Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These terms govern your use of the FluxChat desktop application and this website. By downloading, installing, or using FluxChat, you agree to these terms. This summary is provided for clarity and is not legal advice.
1. The service
FluxChat is a local-first desktop application for chatting with large language models. It can run local models on your hardware and connect to third-party providers using API keys you supply. An optional paid Cloud tier is planned but not yet available.
2. Your account
An account is optional and only needed for future Cloud features. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Provide accurate information and notify us of any unauthorized use.
3. Acceptable use
FluxChat can take real actions on your computer — reading and writing files, running shell commands, and fetching web content — when you direct it to. You are responsible for the actions you authorize. Do not use FluxChat to:
- Break the law or infringe others' rights.
- Access systems or data you are not authorized to use.
- Generate or distribute malicious code or content that harms others.
- Violate the terms of any third-party model provider you connect.
4. Third-party providers and models
When you connect a third-party API or use a downloaded model, your use is also governed by that provider's or model's license and terms. You are responsible for complying with them and for any usage fees they charge.
5. Tool access and responsibility
FluxChat surfaces every action the model attempts and lets you approve, monitor, and stop it via the AI Process Manager. Because the app can modify your system at your direction, you accept responsibility for reviewing actions before allowing them. We recommend keeping backups of important data.
6. Free tier and future paid features
The desktop application is provided free of charge. We may introduce paid Cloud features in the future under separate terms presented at that time. Pricing, where applicable, will be disclosed before purchase.
7. Intellectual property
FluxChat and its branding are owned by us. These terms do not grant you rights to our trademarks. Content you create with the app belongs to you, subject to any applicable third-party model terms.
8. Disclaimers
FluxChat is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Model outputs may be inaccurate or unsuitable for a given purpose; verify important results. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or system damage arising from your use of FluxChat, including actions you authorize the model to perform.
10. Termination
You may stop using FluxChat and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
